The Grand Pacific Glacier is 25-mile long. It begins in the St. Elias Mountains, 7 miles southwest of Mount Hay, trends east into British Columbia, and then southeast to the head of Tarr Inlet at the Alaska-Canada boundary, 68 miles southwest of Skagway. At 2 miles wide, the Grand Pacific is the widest of the tidewater glaciers in Glacier Bay.
