Initial specifications were determined by technology partners.
Kodak used these specifications as a guideline for creating our
Advantix camera, however, Kodak's design, based on our
manufacturing capabilities used smaller draft angles than the
specifications.
Software was used to evaluate the ability of the cartridge
(per specifications) to "find" the film driver and door driver as
the cartridge was inserted into the chamber. Several different
bias conditions (where the cartridge is in contact with a chamber
wall) were evaluated.
Then, alternative chamber designs (larger, Smaller and specified
draft angles) were evaluated. The looser - than - Kodak
specified draft angle simulation indicated that an unacceptable
number of cartridge insertion would not result in the proper
seating of the film and door drivers.
