Early in the design stage the tolerance analyst sat with the
designers to review the parts that were the basis of the camera
design. It was here where major changes were made to modify the
assembly features on the camera frame and mech plate. These
changes reduced parts, and made more efficient use of exact
constraint design. Moreover, these early changes were also
instrumental in controlling variation in the mechanism assembly.
Several different tolerancing questions were asked of the
tolerancing model. These questions were VERY specific to the
actual function of the mechanism.
