WATERBORO, Maine -- There's no doubt that fighting fires is dangerous work. But what if fire crews could separate themselves from the flames and smoke?
Two brothers in Maine say they've developed a tool that lets firefighters stay away from even the most dangerous fires.
Mike and Geoff Howe have created many rugged remote-controlled vehicles for the military. And now they've developed a robotic fire truck that keeps firefighters away from the flames.
The brothers say they came up with the idea while watching coverage of last year's meltdown at the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan.
