e.g. After inspecting property and determining violations of the code, but fail to follow up to ensure that violations are corrected, the inspector may be held liable if a fire occurs. It is better to conduct fewer but more thorough inspections and to follow up on all violations than to perform many inspections in a haphazard, incomplete, or negligent manner.
